Barcelona are weighing up a move for Real Sociedad winger Antoine Griezmann if they fail in their efforts to prize Alexis Sanchez away from Udinese, according to news daily AS.
The Spanish giants have been tipped as the likeliest destination for Sanchez in the past weeks, but Manchester City are said to be holding up the deal as they have also shown an interest in signing the Chilean.
Now, with cash-rich City in the mix, Barcelona are believed to be drawing up a list of potential alternatives.
Griezmann, an under-21 international for France, has been on the books of Real Sociedad since 2005, breaking into the club's senior ranks four years later after his initial signing.
The 20-year-old has a contract with the club until 2015 and a release clause of €30 million, but it is believed the Basque side could lower their asking price if they get loan options, or even special transfer conditions, over some of Barcelona's least used players.
