Celta Vigo have reached an agreement to sell highly rated 17-year-old Denis Suarez to Manchester City, the Spanish club has announced.
The club's chairman Carlos Mourino confirmed that the Spanish Under-17 midfielder will join City for an initial fee of €1 million, which could rise to €3m depending on appearance and performance related clauses in the deal.
A statement on the club's official website read: "Celta Vigo and Manchester City have today completed the transfer of the rights of midfielder Denis Suarez, who will play for the English club next season.
"Celta would like to thank Denis Suarez for his efforts and dedication in the past few seasons with our junior team, and we wish him great success in his new undertaking in English football."
Suarez has made eight appearances for Spain's U-17 side, landing himself on the scoresheet twice. Despite earlier indicating his desire to join Barcelona, a move to England now beckons for the young talent.
The midfielder will most likely have to settle for reserve-team football given the plethora of star names at Eastlands, however, he will be handed a place on Manchester City's pre-season tour in order to allow him to train under the watchful eye of coach Roberto Mancini.
Suarez, who is yet to make his senior debut for Celta, was also previously linked with moves to Chelsea and Real Madrid.
