The legendary and World Cup winning Brazilian footballer is out to keep the prodigy from leaving the country and moving to Europe, just as he stopped Neymar previously
The 21-year-old starlet has consistently said that his future lies in Italy with reports rife in the peninsula that European giants AC Milan and Inter are keen to land the highly rated playmaker.
However, Pele, a legend at Santos, has now stated that he will discuss Ganso’s future with him and will try to see that he remains committed to the Brazilian giants beyond the summer.
Interviewed by Brazilian radio station Jovem Pan, Pele said: “Ganso and I will have a chat. I know that he is happy here. If it were to depend on me, he would stay for life. I believe the situation is similar to that of Neymar [who turned down Chelsea] and I am confident.
“A brief chat with Neymar was enough to convince him to stay and I also believe that Ganso will understand that it's the best thing for the moment. I will talk to him and I am convinced that he will decide to stay.”
Ganso has also stated that he does not rule out playing for Santos’ bitter rivals Corinthians at some point in his career.
