Milan have been turned down by Palermo defender Federico Balzaretti, who insists his desire is to remain in Sicily.
The 29-year-old former Juventus defender has been tipped to join the Rossoneri, who appear eager to bolster their defence.
Just last week his agent Claudio Sclosa said they were "waiting for the Milan call", but that was quickly downplayed by president Maurizio Zamparini, who yesterday claimed "Milan don't want to spend, but even if they did I would not sell him".
And Balzaretti has put an end to all the hyperbole by claiming he has no will to join Milan in January.
"Me to Milan? I don't think so. I will remain at Palermo at the end of season, and for subsequent seasons as I want to respect my contract," he told Sky Sport Italia.
"But in future never say never to any option."
