Espanyol midfielder Javi Marquez has dismissed speculation linking him with a move in the winter market, and insists he is focused on defeating Valencia at the Mestalla this Sunday.
The Blanc i Blau take on one of their closest challengers in the race for the top four and Champions League qualification, and the talented 24-year-old ignored questions regarding interest from other clubs, instead opting to give his full attention to Los Che.
Speaking to the media today, he remarked: “I will not say anything on this issue, and I will not convey a position on anything.
“I want spend a lot of time at Espanyol, this I have always said. I will not talk about anything else other than Valencia. The team is currently enjoying a good feeling and we hope to capture that at the Mestalla. We want to leave the game with three points, that would leave us very high in the rankings.”
Marquez has been linked with a move to the English Premier League, with Wigan Athletic thought to be keeping tabs on his availability.
