Chelsea left-back Yuri Zhirkov has revealed that he is finding life at Stamford Bridge frustrating and may ask to leave the club during the January transfer window.

The versatile defender has found first team football hard to come by in his spell in west London to date and, although he is determined to grab any chances which come his way, the winter transfer window could spell the end of his time with the Blues.

"I’ll certainly get a chance in the next few months and I’ll try to use it completely," the Russian said, according the Daily Mail.

"Then, in the winter, everything will probably depend on whether I got this chance and how I used it.

"We are currently in brilliant form and getting past [Florent] Malouda and [Ashley] Cole is problematic. Everyone understands about the competition: once you are on the bench you can be there for a long time. But I will definitely get a chance.

"The thoughts when you are watching your team play are always the same: you support, worry and your soul wants to be on the pitch to help."

Zhirkov, 27, joined Chelsea from CSKA Moscow last year for £18 million. The lack of first team football has also prompted concerns about his international future.
