Tottenham Striker Robbie Keane Rejected €9.6m Deadline Day Transfer To Besiktas - Report
Tottenham Hotspur striker Robbie Keane reportedly snubbed Besiktas when approached with an €9.6m million move to the Turkish club at the end of the transfer window.
The forward had been loaned out to Celtic during the second half of last season, prompting suggestions that manager Harry Redknapp could have considered the Republic of Ireland international surplus to his requirements.
The 30-year-old was also linked with several moves throughout the summer, with Besiktas thought to have made a late move for the hitman as the transfer window in Turkey remained open until 17:00 on Wednesday.
Now the Daily Mail claims that the Istanbul-based club had lodged the paperwork that would have been necessary for the forward to complete a move, only for the former Liverpool player to turn down a chance to move away from Spurs.
Keane is currently with the Ireland squad in Armenia to spearhead his nation's European Championship qualifying campaign.
