Benitez laments lack of transfer activity as reports link Inter with Udinese midfielder Gokhan Inler.
By Salvatore Landolina
Inter coach Rafael Benitez is at pains to stress the club needs to bolster their squad as Udinese midfielder Gokhan Inler comes into view.
The coach asserted more needs to be done on the transfer market, but admitted they have left it late.
Nevertheless, he hopes the January transfer window offers a lifeline.
"I spoke to Massimo Moratti and Marco Branca. If we cannot do something today then we will do it in January," he told the press.
"It's hard to find top quality players. Not enough strikers in the squad? True."
Sportmediaset.it claims the spotlight is now on Inler. The Nerazzurri are ready to offer €10 million plus some fringe players on co-ownership deals for the Swiss midfielder.
They may struggle to land him though. Friulani chief Giampaolo Pozzo has taken a bold stance in the face of fears of losing his man.
On Monday he said: "Udinese won't sell Inler."
