Luis Fabiano: It Was Always My Intention To Remain At Sevilla
Luis Fabiano has stated that his first choice was always to remain at Sevilla, despite interest from major European sides.

Tottenham Hotspur and Olympique Marseille were both thought to be readying deadline day bids for the Brazilian striker, with a fee of €18 million that was requested by los Nervionenses the main stumbling block.
With no deal looking likely, the Sevilla hierarchy moved to secure Fabiano for an extra two seasons, ensuring that the 29-year-old remains a key part of the club's plans for the foreseeable future.
Speaking at a press conference today in the wake of his agreement, Fabiano beamed: “It is a very happy day for me. It has been another year, and I am finally happy to renew with Sevilla. This is my home, and I have scored goals here for six years.
“I must now try to keep scoring and keep making history for Sevilla. This is a very special day for me. My first option was always to renew with Sevilla.”
Fabiano added that he was aware of interest from elsewhere, but rejected other offers to thank the club for bringing him to Spain initially.
He claimed: “I turned down many offers because many teams were interested. My intention was always to stay here and the fact is that both Luis Fabiano and Sevilla made great efforts to ensure the renewal.
“Sevilla have given me everything. When I came here people did not believe in me much, but here I have won many titles. I owe much to Sevilla, this is the truth.”
