Lindegaard, 26, has been linked to a host of Premier League sides this summer after excelling in the Norwegian top flight. United reserve team coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was spotted watching him from the stands in the recent Europa League qualifying defeat to Motherwell, fuelling rumours of an imminent transfer.
Speaking to VG, Aalesunds director Henrik Hoff confirmed the Hoops have now entered the race to land the Dane.
He said: "It's no secret that Celtic are impressed with Anders.
"They saw him in our Europa League qualifier against Motherwell. In case an offer comes, we will discuss it."
