Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri has unveiled his ideas for Edinson Cavani, insisting he was right to join the club amid strong interest from Inter, while hinting at Cristiano Lucarelli's possible arrival from Parma.

Cavani was linked with Inter and Tottenham before finally choosing Napoli, and Mazzarri insists it was the idealistic choice.

"I have spoken with Cavani a few times to tell him this is the right side for him to have joined," Mazzarri told the press.

"He is enthusiastic and happy. He will be used as a striker, which is the role he likes. He is eager to embrace the Napoli project."

And talks are still moving forward for Lucarelli after club president Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed he could be arriving.

"At this moment he is not a Napoli player, and I am only focused on my players," he said.

"We will see. If he arrives then we will speak about him."
