Napoli forward German Denis has left pre-season training and joined Udinese.

Sky Sport has reported that during the Serie A calendar draw, the Argentine reached an agreement with the Zebrette, and will travel to Udine to sign the contract.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis said he did not know of the announcement, but wished the player all the best in his playing endeavours.

"He is a nice guy and a very good player," De Laurentiis said.

Last season, the Argentine complained that he was not getting enough playing time under coach Walter Mazzarri. Denis believed he was the third-choice attacker behind Ezequiel Lavezzi and Fabio Quagliarella.

Denis is currently carrying a foot injury.
