Juventus Captain Alessandro Del Piero Eyes Successful Season
Del Piero setting the tone for the season ahead...
By Salvatore Landolina
Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero has offered encouragement as his side embark upon a new season.
And the mandate is clear from Del Piero, who is trying to recast minds from last season's shambles, towards a sustainable campaign.
Their first real test of the campaign awaits on Thursday as it's back to competitive football in the Europa League third round qualifying clash with Shamrock Rovers of Ireland.
"The objective is to rediscover ourselves as a team after what happened last year," he told Sky Sport Italia.
"We have to finish positively, be proud of what we have done and make our fans happy, as well as the club."
Juventus will be challenging for the Scudetto this year, and Del Piero is ready to engage in battle with the usual suspects.
"Inter are the favourites? Yes, and for obvious reasons."
