The Gazzetta dello Sport has reported that Genoa are interested in adding experienced Japan midfielder Yashuito Endo from Gamba Osaka.

The 30-year-old international, who has 98 caps for his country, attracted attention with some good performances and a magnificent free-kick against Denmark during the World Cup in South Africa.

Endo has been playing with Gamba Osaka since 2001 and in that time has drawn admirers from Europe, Liverpool the most notable, but he has never made the move from Japan.

The defensive midfielder has been included in the J League XI of the season every year since 2003 and in 2009 was voted Asian Footballer Of The Year.
