Juventus are planning to get Tiago off their books by offering Liverpool the midfielder as a replacement for Javier Mascherano, according to The People.

Tiago, 29, has struggled to make his mark in Turin and was loaned out to Atletico Madrid last season. Despite flopping in Serie A, the ex-Chelsea man shone in South Africa and could be of interest to new Reds manager Roy Hodgson.

Mascherano is expected to force through a move to be reunited with Inter supremo Rafael Benitez in the coming weeks.

Juventus are eager to remove Tiago from their wage bill and are prepared to ship him to Anfield as a replacement for the wantaway Argentina skipper.
