Real Madrid Target Maicon To Follow Mario Balotelli Out Of Inter's Door - Report
Maicon will be next to go...
Inter defender Maicon will be the next departure heading out of the door as he gears up for Real Madrid.La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that, after Mario Balotelli agreed terms with Manchester City, Maicon will reach a consensus with the Spanish club offering a four-year deal worth €6 million per annum.
Once agreeing terms with the player, Madrid will move to ensure they finalise a deal with the Nerazzurri, who will receive €28m plus a series of bonuses.
Maicon is currently on holiday but is expected to meet Inter on their US tour. His agent Antonio Caliendo will be speaking with Real Madrid chiefs over his terms. Maicon wanted €7m a season in wages, but the wide-ranging view in Italy is that he will accept €6m.
With income from Balotelli and Maicon, Inter's inbound market will gather pace. Coach Rafael Benitez is still tracking Liverpool's Javier Mascherano and Reds team-mate Dirk Kuyt.
Massimo Moratti though is also keeping tabs on Diego Forlan and Bastian Schweinsteiger.
