Portugal: Ariza Makukula (Maritimo)
According to a report in Kurier, reigning Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg are considering making a move for towering striker Ariza Makukula, currently under contract with Portuguese powerhouse Benfica.

The Austrian outfit are in the market for a new attacker following the departure of Marc Janko to Eredivisie side Twente earlier this summer and head coach Huub Stevens supposedly sees Makukula as the perfect replacement.

The 29-year-old striker has failed to secure regular first team action at Benfica since joining the Lisbon titans in 2008 from Sevilla. Makukula was therefore farmed out on loan to Bolton Wanderers and Kayserispor in the past two seasons.

His good performances in Turkey in the 2009-10 campaign didn't go unnoticed elsewhere and Salzburg are eager to add the striker to their ranks this summer.

Benfica are reportedly ready to cash in on Makukula in the summer transfer window. The Aguias have set a €4 million asking price for the Portuguese international.
