Inter are looking at Palermo hitman Edinson Cavani and Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt as alternatives to Mario Balotelli if he leaves, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The report comes despite Rosanero chief Maurizio Zamparini blasting: "I will never sell Cavani to Inter," just days ago, as well as Massimo Moratti claiming: "Balotelli has not asked to be sold," on Wednesday.
Yet the Italian youngster continues to be linked with an exit, regardless of denials by the hand that feeds him.
Corriere insists that Inter are deciding whether to bid €23 million for Cavani, or €15m for the Dutch international should Balotelli go.
His agent Mino Raiola sparked a wave of interest from Manchester clubs City and United when he said Roberto Mancini's side made an offer on Monday.
Since then reports have suggested a tug of war from the rival Premier League sides over the Italian, with Sir Alex Ferguson eyeing him as the new Cristiano Ronaldo.
Inter director Marco Branca reportedly told The Sun that "Manchester City and Manchester United were interested in Balotelli", but it was "too early to see what happens".
