Osasuna's Iranian midfielder Javad Nekounam could be on his way to Greece, as agent Reza Fazeli has confirmed a €1.3 million bid from Olympiakos will be tabled shortly.
Marca have reported that the Pamplona club are considering the bid carefully as the midfielder's contract expires next year.
"We're talking every day with Olympiakos concerning Nekounam," the report quoted a club official as saying. "We know the interest of the Greek team and will soon officially submit the bid to Osasuna. Javad knows Olympiakos and he told me he would like to go to one of the best known clubs in Europe. He has already begun to know more things about Olympiakos. I think all this will end soon because Nekounam is a player of great interest to Olympiakos."
In 2009 Villarreal offered to meet the buy-out clause in Nekounam's contract, worth €5m, but the player decided he was happy where he was after coming back from a serious knee injury. He went on to be the second top scorer last season behind Walter Pandiani. The Iranian international has over 100 caps despite being only 29 years old.
