Villarreal Put €3 Million Price Tag On Ageing Midfield Talisman Marcos Senna
Marcos Senna's future appears to lie away from the Yellow Submarine
By Cyrus C. Malek
As reported by Marca, Marcos Senna's departure from Villarreal appears to be imminent. The Yellow Submarine have put a €3 million price tag on the 33-year-old midfielder, who has garnered interest from Brazilian side Sao Paulo along with teams from the United Arab Emirates and Turkey.
What seems apparent is that Villarreal are not intent on extending the player's contract through its expiration date of next summer and even the price tag now affixed to Senna could be negotiable, although it is reported any deal would not dip below the €2.5m threshold.
The frontrunners in terms of interest for the talented midfielder are Arabic club Al Ahly, but a transfer deal could end up being impossible as the UAE club are not too keen on paying a transfer fee. Senna also reportedly is not too keen on a move to the Middle East.
