Real Madrid face further obstacles in their race for Inter defender Maicon as Massimo Moratti is in no hurry to sell him.
Jose Mourinho continues to insist on signing the Brazil international, but the clubs haven't reached an agreement over his price. Real are offering €25 million, but Inter expect €35m.
And even if Real do raise the stakes, it's not certain Moratti will concede defeat.
"We do not want to sell Maicon because he is an excellent player," Moratti told Il Corriere dello Sport.
And the president told Florentino Perez there will be no cut price shopping in Milan this summer.
"Do they expect a discount in Madrid? The Brazilian has been requested, but everyone has their own evaluation that they feel is right," he added.
"I consider the player to be indispensable for us to aim high. People from Madrid have made contact, but we are tranquil and Maicon is too."
Moratti was keen to remind Real that he wants a cash only deal if they decide to make a serious move for the player. His response comes after reports on Monday claimed Inter wanted Xabi Alonso as part of the deal.
"I don't think there will be any exchange deals," he concluded.
