Versatile Ukrainian attacker Sacha Iakovenko has attracted the interest of Eredivisie titans Ajax with his strong performances this campaign, according to a report in Het Nieuwsblad.
The 22-year-old is currently under contract at Belgian table toppers Anderlecht, but the Brussels side opted to farm Iakovenko out on loan to Westerlo until the end of this season.
Iakovenko has been in superb form for Westerlo and is expected to return to Anderlecht this summer. However, the highly rated attacker only wants to stay at Paars-Wit if he gets regular first team action.
Head coach Ariel Jacobs has made it clear that he can't guarantee any player a spot in the starting XI though. Therefore, the attacker might decide to move on in the summer transfer window.
His current Anderlecht contract is due to expire in the summer of 2012, but Anderlecht could be tempted to cash in on Iakovenko if an offer in the region of €2 million comes in.
