Champions League : Alessandro Gamberini (Fiorentina) vs Lisandro Lopez (Lyon)
Roberto Mancini has identified Fiorentina defender Alessandro Gamberini as his first transfer target of the summer, according to Sportmediaset.it.

Mancini is hoping to bring the Italian to Manchester City and he has asked the club's directors to make the transfer possible by following the player closely from now until June.

Gamberini, whose contract expires in 2013, has excelled since his arrival in 2005. He has attracted plenty of interest from several clubs, with City favourites to land him.

Scouts from the Premier League club were at the Artemio Franchi on Sunday to watch the 27-year-old in action against Roma.

But Cesare Prandelli is unlikely to allow one of his first choice stoppers to leave the club.
