Asier Del Horno
Valencia full-back Asier del Horno has completed his switch to Real Valladolid on loan until the end of the season.

The 29-year old, who has been frozen out of action under coach Unai Emery this season due to the arrival of Frenchman Jeremy Mathieu, was previously linked with a switch to Deportivo La Coruna.

However, ESPN reports that Pucela coach Jose Luis Mendilibar has swooped to secure the former Chelsea and Athletic Bilbao defender on a short-term deal.

Del Horno is contracted at the Mestalla until the summer of 2012, and his career has stalled after returning from an ill-fated move to England.

He represents Valladolid’s second signing of the January transfer window, after the arrival of Keko from Atletico Madrid, also on loan.

Valladolid are currently perched precariously above the relegation positions in the Primera Division, level on points with Tenerife and Malaga, and are bolstering their squad in preparation for a relegation scrap as the season draws to an end.
