Fiorentina are unlikely to execute further transfer plans after failing to put together a move for Lazio striker Tommaso Rocchi amid increasing difficulty in Tuscany.
According to Calciomercato.com, Viola coach Cesare Prandelli asked sporting director Pantaleo Corvino for more transfer allowances so he could fashion a deal for the Lazio man. Rocchi has been overlooked by coach Davide Ballardini and has become the subject of increased speculative reports claiming he would leave.
However, Corvino has told Prandelli the club are unprepared to provide the golden goose to alter their transfer strategies this winter. The Italian was hoping to expand his attacking line-up, but looks set to miss out on the striker.
Despite the prohibition in Florence, Prandelli could raise the funds he needs for Rocchi by putting some players on the market. But, with the transfer stopwatch ticking towards a conclusion, time is running out for the Italian coach.
