Manchester United are in the hunt for Roma goalkeeper Alexander Doni with a view to landing him in January.

According to Il Tempo, the Brazilian goalkeeper is set for the exit door this winter. He has only made four appearances in Serie A this season, and the report claims the Lupi are keen to makes cuts from their wage bill, with Doni one of the highest earners at Trigoria.

Manchester United are looking for a goalkeeper as an alternative to Edwin Van der Sar, who has stopped been given leave to spend time with his ill wife.

Furthermore, Doni would be eligible to play in the Champions League for the Red Devils should they land him. The report claims Julio Baptista is also on the departure list at Roma.
