Birmingham City Striker Marcus Bent Extends Loan Spell At Middlesbrough

Forward set for longer stay on Teesside...

Marcus Bent, Wigan

Middlesbrough have extended the loan deal of Birmingham City striker Marcus Bent until January 16.

The 31-year-old joined on an emergency two-month loan in October and he was set to go back to his parent club in the next few days.

Bent has made seven appearances for Boro but has failed to find the net so far at the Riverside.

The former Everton striker has been given permission by Birmingham to play in Middlesbrough’s FA Cup tie with Manchester City on Saturday, thereby ruling him out of competing for the Blues in the same competition this season.

Middlesbrough manager Gordon Strachan is without the injured Jeremie Aliadiere and the suspended Leroy Lita for Saturday’s match so it is likely Bent could start against City.
