OFFICIAL: Sporting CP Sign Florent Sinama-Pongolle From Atletico Madrid
The Frenchman moves west...
The Frenchman has been on the verge of an exit from the Vicente Calderon for over a week, but only tonight has the paperwork been finalised.
Sporting have paid approximately €6.5 million for the former Recreativo Huelva striker, with a further million payable upon a certain number of appearances and goals.
Sinama-Pongolle arrived in the Spanish capital in the summer of 2008 but failed to establish himself at Atleti due to the success of the Diego Forlan and Sergio Aguero partnership up front.
The 25-year-old has made 40 league appearances for the Colchoneros, the vast majority as a substitute, scoring five goals in the process.
Florent has penned a deal that will keep him in Lisbon until 2013, with a buy-out clause of €18m.
