Tottenham Hotspur Manager Harry Redknapp Watching Craig Bellamy Situation At Manchester City - Report
Spurs set to swoop for unhappy Welshman...
Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp is believed to be closely monitoring the situation involving Craig Bellamy at Manchester City, with a view to snapping up the striker if he should choose to walk out of the Eastlands club, according to The Sun.
Bellamy is believed to be disillusioned following the high-profile sacking of Mark Hughes, who previously managed the 30-year-old at Blackburn Rovers and Wales before his stint with City.
The former West Ham United and Liverpool hitman has been widely reported to have led a six-man delegation to oppose the firing of Hughes, and is also believed to have clashed with the new gaffer, Roberto Mancini, when the Italian took his first training session.
If City should choose to sell the unsettled Welshman, it is speculated that he would fetch £14 million, which is the price that the Arab owners coughed up to procure the services of the hot-headed forward.
It is claimed that Redknapp has been told by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy that he will have to sell in order to replenish the squad. Due to this, Roman Pavlyuchenko will reportedly be used to finance the Bellamy deal.
Redknapp was previously interested in signing the striker, and is said to have matched City's bid when the forward was at West Ham United, but Bellamy is said to have joined the Sky Blues due to the presence of former boss Hughes.
