The representative of Bordeaux midfielder Fernando Menegazzo has reiterated that talks with Italian side Genoa are progressing and his client is eager to secure a transfer to the Marassi in January.

The 28-year-old has been on the Ligurians’ radar for several months and his agent Massimiliano Ricci has revealed he made up his mind after hearing of the club’s ambitious plans.

“Things are going according to plan,” Ricci confessed to Pianetagenoa1893.net.

“We will meet with the Rossoblu directors before the holidays and have scheduled a meeting with Bordeaux soon after Christmas.

“That’s when we will really understand if Menegazzo is destined to join the Grifoni.”

Menegazzo has already tasted Italian football from 2003 to 2005 when he had stints at Siena and Catania.

“Well, he is prepared to give up a very important competition such as the Champions League in order to return to Italy,” explained the representative.

“Genoa’s project convinced him as well as the club’s ambitions.”
