Belgium international forward Moussa Dembele could leave Dutch side AZ in January and his agent claims Milan are in pole position to secure his services.

The 22-year-old has drawn attention from a number of clubs across Europe and his Italian representative, Gabriele Savino, has revealed he has already discussed a potential transfer to Milan.

“Moussa is a player whom I am offering, along with my associates, to Italian teams such as Milan,” Savino told Calciomercato.it.

“AZ won the title in Holland last term, but are not having a great season this year and the club’s problems are playing a part.

“Our idea is to secure a transfer in January and we want to bring him to Italy, even though English clubs have also sounded us out.

“We believe that Dembele is a top-class player for his qualities and for what he can give to an important club. Then again, we must wait to see what Milan’s intentions are.

“Dembele would really need a fresh start and new adventure. But we must find a club that believes in him.”

Milan could indeed take up the agent’s offer if they release out-of-favour Dutch striker Klass-Jan Huntelaar in January.
