Real Madrid midfielder Rafael van der Vaart has rejected any possible move to the Premier League, after Arsenal were linked with a £6m January move for him.

Instead, the Dutchman insists that he will be staying put in Spain.

"My intention is to finish the season here and see out the contract that I have with Real Madrid," he said, according to The Daily Mirror.

"I am very happy and believe I am playing very well at the moment."

Van der Vaart has struggled to make an impression at the Santiago Bernabeu since the arrival of Kaka in the summer.

However, injury to the Brazilian has seen the Oranje star make his way back into the first team.

Earlier in the season he had indicated that he was set for a January move to England and that the Gunners were favourites to land his signature.
