Brazilian Starlet Alex Teixeira Set For £8m Shakhtar Donetsk Move - Report
Vasco wonderkid Alex Teixeira is on the verge of move to Ukraine...
Brazil’s latest young starlet, Alex Teixeira, is on the verge of
completing a move to Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk, according to Lance.
The 19-year-old forward, who has now made over 50 appearances for Vasco da Gama, is said to be all set to complete his €8 million switch.
While club officials are yet to confirm any deal is on the cards, Vasco’s refusal to deny the claims are being taken by the Brazilian media to mean the deal is imminent.
Newly promoted Vasco are keen to raise money in order to fund moves for their own transfer targets, most notably Rafael Carioca of Spartak Moscow who is said to be desperate to return to his homeland.
The hefty fee Teixeira commands will go a long way in providing the Brazilians with the money they need to improve the squad ahead of the State Championships.
If the deal goes through, the youngster will join a strong Brazilian contingent at the Ukrainian club; who already have six of his compatriots in their first team squad.
