Inter and Arsenal could be about to enter negotiations for a deal that would see Mario Balotelli swap places with Francesc Fabregas.

According to Tuttosport, Balotelli's relationship with coach Jose Mourinho has become strained this season, and the Italian striker could be put on the transfer market.

Recent developments between the duo have not been encouraging, leading to speculation that the point of no return has already been reached.

The report suggests Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is a fan of the young striker and he is following him with interest.

The Turin-based paper claims the clubs will welcome the chance to swap their talents, with Fabregas heading to Milan and 'SuperMario' going the other way.

It is said Fabregas is Mourinho's first choice for his midfield.

Despite the report, neither club has passed comment.
