Amine Chermiti Denies Wanting To Leave Hertha Berlin For Good
The Tunisian striker has publicly denounced reports that he was seeking a permanent transfer to the Saudi League.
Tunisian international forward Amine Chermiti has strongly denounced an article published by Al Ialan in his homeland, whereby he reportedly made reference to wanting to make his season long loan move to Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia a permanent one.
“That’s not true. The newspaper, Al Ialan, came up with that. It’s a fairy tale,” he explained in a statement to transfermarket.de.
The article where the false claim was attributed to the Sfax native shocked football lovers in the North African country, who are already less than pleased with the former Etoile starlet’s decision to even play a single season in the Saudi championship, which is far less competitive than the German Bundesliga.
Chermiti made the argument that the switch was for the benefit of the Tunisian national team, as he would get a chance to play more games for Al Ittihad than he did for Hertha Berlin, but many have challenged the soundness of his logic.
