Juventus To Fight Inter For Lazio Striker Goran Pandev - Report
Juve have joined Inter in another race - to land Goran Pandev from Lazio...
Juventus and Inter face a shoot-out for Lazio ace Goran Pandev, as both clubs are now thought to be interested in signing the striker.
According to Tuttosport, the Old Lady has joined the race to sign the hit-man who has fallen out with his current employers. Pandev was linked with both clubs during the summer transfer window, but neither were willing to pay his €19million price tag.
They can now move for him in January and sign him on a free deal, as his contract expires in June 2010. Lazio would only be able to cash-in on him if they sell him before January, but the two clubs are likely to wait so they can get him on a Bosman.
On Saturday, reports suggested Inter were looking to take that road, but Juve are now looking to have their say as they plan to swoop.
With David Trezeguet announcing his decision to move on at the end of term, Ciro Ferrara is looking for a replacement, but he faces a tough battle with Jose Mourinho if he wants to get his hands on Pandev.
