Lazio Lawyer Explains Goran Pandev Situation
The lawyer working on Lazio's behalf over the Goran Pandev tension believes that reconciliation will be tough...
Lazio lawyer Gianmichele Gentile has tried to explain the squabbles between the club and want-away striker Goran Pandev.
Pandev has threatened to take legal action against the Rome outfit after becoming an outcast there. He has been left out of the squad for the Europa League, and he has been forced to train on his own after battles over his future.
The Macedonian striker has made it clear he wants to leave, but any signs of an amicable exit are fading rapidly.
"Pandev has been showing his muscles, and so have Lazio, albeit reluctantly," Gentile told Radio Radio TV.
"This squabble risks becoming useless and negative."
Gentile has also revealed why Cristian Ledesma, who has found himself in the same situation as Pandev, is trying to reconcile his relationship with the club.
"Pandev is contracted here until 2010, whereas Ledesma's deal expires in 2011," added the lawyer.
"Ledesma has shown an attitude of staying close to the club, and his position is different to Pandev.
"The Macedonian does not want to be here, he wants to go, but then he asks to be reintegrated to the squad."
Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg are keen on the striker, according to reports, but they are unwilling to meet the €19 million price tag.
