Parma New Boy Christian Panucci Eager To Impress
The Italian stopper has buried the past and dug out plans for the future...
New Parma defender Christian Panucci is ready to begin a new chapter with the Ducali as he ends his story with Roma.
The defender joined the Gialloblu on a one year deal after his contract with Roma expired in June. Panucci didn't enjoy the best of terms in the capital following a run-in with coach Luciano Spalletti. The stopper has put that behind him, preferring to focus on the future, rather than dwell on the past.
"My relationship with Roma is over. I have no regrets I gave everything there and now I just want to focus on Parma," the defender told the press during his unveiling on Friday.
"I am happy to be here and this is a big challenge for me. A very important battle. At 36 I want to show that I can still prove myself at the highest levels.
"I have been training really hard and I am looking forward to this adventure with Parma."
The stopper also revealed he could have been wearing the Milan jersey next season, but the Rossoneri signed Oguchi Onyewu instead.
"I was close to joing Milan before Parma, but it never fell through I had an agreement with [Adriano] Galliani, but then things changed," concluded the player.
