‘Ronaldo Of The Rock’, Monaco’s Yohan Mollo, Courted By Nancy – Report
‘The Ronaldo of the Rock’ is set to fly the south coast of France in order to secure greater riches, with Nancy a potential destination.
Promising young winger Yohan Mollo has already rejected Monaco’s first offer of professional terms and is being linked with a move to rival Ligue 1 outfit Nancy by radio station RMC.
A hugely exciting prospect, the 'Ronaldo of the Rock’ felt that the terms being offered by les Monegasques for his first professional deal were wholly insufficient, thereby rejecting the contract offer of the club where he has played since 2004.
Now 20-years-old, Mollo made a real breakthrough in Ligue 1 last term, frequently turning in promising performances on Monaco’s flanks, playing in a total of 24 league fixtures and plundering a couple of goals in the process.
Recognised at international level by the French Under-21 squad, Mollo would be a great capture for Nancy, who are a side that have recently been known for their stubborn defensive approach under terrier-like Uruguayan coach Pablo Correa.
However, reports suggest that Monaco are keen to keep him at the Stade Louis II and also have a contract offer on his table, which could yet be signed by the versatile wingman.
Considered a huge fan of Cristiano Ronaldo, the young Frenchman has modelled his play very much on the Real Madrid star, combining a number of tricks with direct dribbling to cause havoc in opposition defences. In addition, he is a player of fine stock, as he is the cousin of Toulouse’s Andre-Pierre Gignac, who top scored in Ligue 1 last season with 24 goals.
