Inter Eye Real Madrid Midfielder Rafael van der Vaart – Report
Hleb's rejection has prompted Mourinho to take a look at Real Madrid's Van der Vaart, according to reports in Italy...
Inter are ready to make a move for Real Madrid midfielder Rafael van der Vaart after receiving a rejection from Aliaksandr Hleb.According to Il Corriere Dello Sport, Jose Mourinho has turned his attention to the Dutchman after Hleb, who was close to joining the Nerazzurri, snubbed them and joined Stuttgart instead.
The reports suggests Van der Vaart is unlikely to have a regular starting role at the Bernabeu. Real Madrid's radical squad overhaul this summer has left the middle-man the subject of attention from Inter.
It is said Florentino Perez wants to cash in on Van der Vaart, and los Blancos' president has already rejected the advances of Ajax, who wanted a loan deal.
The 27-year-old would be an alternative to Deco. The Chelsea midfielder is wanted by the 'Special One', but the move has not developed.
Voices in Spain claim the Dutchman is on the list of players likely to depart the Bernabeu. Furthermore, coach Manuel Pellegrini has left him out of the Peace Cup squad to face Juventus tonight.
The deal for Van der Vaart is still in its embryonic stage and it is unlikely to develop until after the Supercoppa Italiana clash against Lazio on August 8.
No official comment regarding the rumour has been made.
