A €6 million compensation claim is preventing the mega-deal that will see Samuel Eto'o join Inter and Zlatan Ibrahimovic move to Barcelona from being completed.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the move is on hold as the Spanish side are not willing to meet Eto'o's compensation demands, despite the Cameroon international reportedly agreeing terms with Inter late last night.

Eto'o's contract with the Catalans expires next summer and he wants the salary he would have earned from now until 2010 as compensation for leaving the club.

It is suggested the hitman wants a €6m reimbursement, and it is here where the deal is stumbling. His agent, Josep Maria Mesalles, is said to have been talking with Barcelona this morning, but he is now flying back to Milan in order to find a solution with the Biscione.

La Gazzetta Dello Sport claims the deal may still go ahead, but without Eto'o. The Milanese paper implies the Blaugrana are prepared to offer Inter €75m for Ibrahimovic, scrapping plans to insert Eto'o as part of the agreement.
