Daniel Fonseca: Martin Caceres Wants Juventus, He Will Not Play Second Fiddle At Barcelona
The Blaugrana ace could arrive in Turin within the next week, according to his agent...
Barcelona defender Martin Caceres is on the verge of joining Juventus, according to his agent Daniel Fonseca.
Fonseca, who played for Juventus between 1997 and 2000, is pushing his client towards his former club after Maxwell's arrival at the Blaugrana. Caceres played a bit-part role in the club's treble winning season, and he is unlikely to accept another bench-dominated term.
"I think that the deal will be concluded in around ten days. Caceres is the new Cannavaro and he will surprise everyone at Juventus," Fonseca told Tuttosport.
"Barcelona are ready to sell him as a player like Martin cannot accept another season on the bench. He was clear with Barcelona directors and he only wants to play for Juventus.
"I have played my part and the player is also convinced."
Caceres is a centre-back but he can also adapt to play on the left and right side. The Bianconeri have been looking for a left-sided man, and Fonseca's words suggest they have found one.
