Manchester City Keen On Juventus Striker David Trezeguet – Report
Reports in Italy claim the Premier League side are chasing Trezeguet...
Juventus striker David Trezeguet is wanted by Manchester City, but conflicting reports in the British media suggest the club are about to sign former Manchester United hitman Carlos Tevez.
A report in Turin-based Tuttosport claims the Citizens are ready to offer the Old Lady €10 million for the Frenchman. Having already signed Roque Santa Cruz from Blackburn Rovers, the Manchester outfit are looking for a decent striker to partner Cruz up front.
However, the voices in Italy appear to collide with what is being reported in England. The Daily Mail claims City are on the verge of signing 25-year-old Tevez, who is reportedly having his medical this morning. It is said the Argentinean will earn around €6m-per-season and he will be offered a five-year deal.
If reports in England are accurate, Trezeguet's arrival at City would be rather unlikely. On Saturday the Frenchman was linked with Glasgow Rangers, but his agent, Antonio Caliendo, denied that, claiming it was an English side who wanted his client, but he didn't mention the club's name.
Speculation surrounding the striker has been rife all summer, but it appears there has not been any concrete foundation behind a probable exit this far.
