Report: Lazio Sign Matuzalem Permanently, Carrizo Agrees Real Zaragoza Switch
The Aquile are set to complete the signing of the midfielder, while the Argentine ‘keeper has accepted a loan move to the Spaniards.
According to reports in the Corriere dello Sport, Lazio and Real Zaragoza have finally struck a deal over Brazilian midfielder Matuzalem and Argentine international goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo.
The clubs are set to ratify an agreement reached last Saturday, when Lazio president Claudio Lotito met his Zaragoza counterpart, Agapito Iglesias, in Madrid.
The Biancocelesti will pay €6.5 million to sign Matuzalem, who spent last season on loan at the Olimpico, and they will also loan Zaragoza goalkeeper Carrizo.
The Blanquillos will then decide whether to turn the transfer of the shot-stopper into a permanent deal next summer for a fee believed to be in the region of €10m.
Carrizo, who endured a difficult first season in Italy, had initially opposed a move to Spain, but he changed his mind yesterday after a meeting between his agent, Pablo Sabbag, and Lotito.
An official announcement from both clubs is expected shortly.
