Porto Rejected Atletico Madrid's Jose Antonio Reyes – President
Pinto da Costa has stated that the former Arsenal man was offered to the Dragons...
The Porto chairman has now confirmed that Reyes was indeed offered to Porto, but as a bargaining chip in a deal for midfielder Ibson.
The Brazilian footballer is set to return to the Estadio do Dragao after a two-year spell at Flamengo. Though he does not know where he will play next season, it does not look like it will be at the Vicente Calderon.
"I can say that Reyes does not interest FC Porto," Pinto da Costa told A Bola. "On Saturday, I got a call from an agent offering us Reyes, saying Atletico Madrid wanted to exchange the player for Ibson.
"I immediately spoke to the coach [Jesualdo Ferreira], who told me he did not want Reyes, even if it was for free, so I called back to say FC Porto were not interested in the deal."
