Olympique Lyonnais have all but secured the signature of Porto star Lisandro Lopez for a club record fee of €24 million, however, president Jean-Michel Aulas is ready to open his chequebook again in order to secure another highly prized striker, with Nice’s Loic Remy and Toulouse’s Andre-Pierre Gignac firmly in his sights.

However, les Aiglons are adamant that they do not wish to sell burgeoning forward Remy, whom they purchased for €8m last summer from OL. They have set an asking from of €16m, which Lyon have failed to meet.

“Lyon have made a single offer, far from the figure announced three weeks ago,” confirmed Nice director of sport Eric Roy to L'Equipe. “It was refused because we are not interested in selling Loic. And the player himself said on Tuesday morning that he wants to play a second year with us.”

According to the Parisian publication, Lyon have made a final offer of €11m plus Anthony Mounier to OGC.

Meanwhile, the same source also suggests that OL are ready to continue their pursuit of France international forward Gignac, despite being told in no uncertain terms that he will not be moving.

Ligue 1’s top scorer with 24 strikes last season is tied to le Tefece until 2014, although les Gones are trying to break those bonds with an offer of €10m, plus an additional €1m should they reach the Champions League group stages this season. It is also suggested that they will attempt to include misfiring forward Frederic Piquionne in the deal.

Olivier Sadran, president of the Pink City outfit, is said by L’Equipe to have found such a proposal “ludicrous”.
