John Elkann, president of Exxor, which is the holding company that controls Juventus, has revealed that the club's summer spending will continue as he hints at following the piste leading to Fiorentina ace Felipe Melo.

The Bianconeri have been linked with the Brazilian midfielder, but reports suggest Arsenal are favourites to land him after the Viola received a bid from the north London side.

However, Elkann has revealed that his club have not yet ruled out the possibility of making a move for the much sought-after player.

"Felipe Melo? Our transfer market is not closed. We will try to make one good operation," Elkaan told Tuttosport.

"Our will is to strengthen the team for next season and there are many operations still on-going."

Earlier this morning, Fiorentina owner Andrea Della Valle claimed the club wanted to keep Melo, but the feeling was that it would be difficult. On Sunday, the player himself said it was up to the club as to whether or not he would be sold.
