Porto Target Lanus Midfielder Diego Valeri – Report
The Dragons have already begun looking for a new playmaker...
Porto are preparing a swoop for Club Atletico Lanus midfielder Diego Valeri, according to news daily A Bola.
The Portuguese champions are in the market for a creative option for their midfield after losing Lucho Gonzalez to Marseille for a fee of €18 million.
Reports in Portugal suggest that Javier Pastore is Porto's top transfer target, but they have allegedly been forced to switch their focus to Valeri after learning of Arsenal's interest in the Huracan prodigy.
According to news stories in Argentina, Porto face competition from Olympique Lyonnais, Paris Saint-Germain, Palermo and Arsenal for Pastore's signature, with north London being the 20-year-old's most likely destination.
It is believed that no official approach for Valeri has yet been made by Porto, who may be forced to look for more players as Bruno Alves and Lisandro Lopez continue to be linked with the exit door at the club.
