Tunisian international midfielder Houcine Ragued spoke to Mosaique FM today and revealed that he has just signed a four-year contract with Slavia Prague.

The player said he was delighted to have come to a decision after carefully weighing his options following the relegation of his former club RAEC Mons to the Belgian second division.

The French born footballer said that he had offers from top clubs in Belgium but that he preferred to change championships. He also said that there was interest from French Ligue I and German Bundesliga teams but that he didn’t want to wait for them to make concrete bids and preferred to go to a side that have a coach who “wanted him at all costs”.

“Teams in France spoke to me but I would have had to wait longer for them to make offers and I didn’t want to do that because there are lots of important competitions coming up, whether it be with club or country, and I don’t want to risk being blocked. I made a sporting choice,” he explained.

Ragued also indicated that he had many conversations with Carthage Eagles team-mate Tijani Belaid about the side and the country before making his decision and that he was excited to play alongside him next season.
