Sporting CP Close To Felipe Caicedo Deal - Report
The Ecuadorian attacker appears set to try his luck in Portugal..
Sporting have been on the lookout for a new striker since Derlei surprisingly decided against signing an extension with the Lions.
And Caicedo, who joined the Eastlands outfit from Basel in January 2008 for €7 million, appears to be very high on Sporting coach Paulo Bento's wishlist.
The 20-year-old striker, is aware that his playing opportunities at City will be very limited next term following the arrival of Roque Santa Cruz and is believed to be considering his options.
According to Diario de Noticias, Sporting and Caicedo have already come to an understanding, and now the only thing left for the deal to be completed are the negotiations between the two clubs.
